Grounds Maintenance & Sprayer Operative

In 1981, it started with two chainsaws and a VW Beetle. Today, we are New Zealand's leader in arboriculture, horticulture, landscaping and grounds maintenance. We operate with branches across New Zealand and Australia and employee over 600 people in a broad range of different roles across the country.

We are looking for a Grounds Maintenance and Sprayer Worker to join our Hamilton grounds team.

This permanent full time role will find you working on the KiwiRail network, Council Parks and general power lines, managing vegetation along the rails, including: spraying weeds, ground clearing, and cutting trees. There is a small amount of mowing as well.

This is an outdoors role and a high level of physical fitness is required.

Ideally, you will have the following attributes and experience:

  • Safety first attitude
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Experience with weed spraying
  • Ability to work autonomously and self-manage to meet deadlines
  • Works well across diverse teams with strong communication skills

You will need:

  • L4 Horticulture certificate or higher qualification or similar preferred
  • Transpower SE2 Certification
  • Current NZ Drivers Licence
  • Growsafe standard Certificate
  • Certified Chemical Applicator
  • Certified Permit Receiver
  • Up to date First Aid (units 6401 & 6402)
